The Kyiv authorities announced plans to restore all the architecture sights ahead of the 2012 UEFA European Football Championship, in particular the first Kyiv fountains, Kyiv Deputy Mayor Anatoliy Holubchenko has said, UKRINFORM reported citing the press office of Kyiv City State Administration (KSCA).

"We want to restore the first Kyiv fountains, which functioned in the capital before the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War. We have appropriate original photos, projects," the official said.

He noted that in preparations for UEFA EURO 2012 the Kyiv authorities plan to improve the tourism infrastructure of the city to meet the requirements of UEFA and taking into account the convenience of staying of potential tourists in the capital. In particular, it is planned to install information online boxes, and information signs in foreign languages throughout the city. In addition, during the sporting events the city authorities will engage volunteers in the work with the tourists, namely senior students of Ukrainian universities with in-depth study of foreign languages.
