Most difficult period for Ukrainian banking system already passed, Director of
the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Andre Kuusvek expressed his opinion at a
press conference in Kyiv.
At the same time, he said the banks till now are not able to fulfill their main function of mediators on the financial market.

Out of current problems of
banks, he noted the fact that they do not fulfill their main function
and they do not work as mediators that direct money to the real sector
of the economy.
He also noted that the EBRD works in two directions: rendering support in the form of new money for the banks that carry out transparent and effective activities and assistance in restructuring to the banks.
