A group of NATO experts, headed by Chief of the Force Planning Department of NATO Defense Policy and Planning Division Frank Boland, has arrived in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry's press service reported that the delegation of the alliance's experts included representatives of the NATO International Secretariat, the International Military Staff, the Allied Command Transformation and the NATO Liaison Office in Ukraine.

The main purpose of the visit by NATO experts to Ukraine is to consider, along with representatives of the Defense Ministry, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, other types of armed forces, as well as law enforcement agencies and executive government bodies, the draft of a concluding document on Ukraine's participation in the planning and assessment of the forces of NATO's Partnership for Peace program.

A Ukrainian military delegation at meetings with NATO experts is headed by Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Vice-Admiral Ihor Kabanenko.

During working meetings, the parties are planning to review the progress of conducting a defense review in Ukraine and the implementation of an annual national program of Ukraine-NATO cooperation for 2010. The sides will also consider the state of the implementation of the state program for the development of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in 2006-2011.

The visit by NATO experts to Ukraine will last until September 23.
