"In 2007, during my official visit to Singapore, you advised me to send as many young people as possible to study in Western countries. I will take your advice to implement. Already next year we will send more than 300 people to study in leading Western universities," Azarov said.
Thus, the Head of the Ukrainian Government explained that currently the financial capacity of the State is to teach only 300 people abroad. "But every year we gradually will increase that figure," the Prime Minister of Ukraine is convinced.
He added that the availability of a sufficient number of professionals who possess the most modern technologies in various spheres of life is the prerequisite of successful reform.
In turn, Minister Mentor of Singapore Lee Kuan Yew stressed that the Ukrainian nation is very educated, so it is necessary to use this intellectual potential. According to him, the Government of Ukraine is to create conditions for national experts who would stimulate them to continue this work in its country and not go abroad or remain there after training.
Lee Kuan Yew said that Singapore at its time lost a lot of specialists who travelled to study in more developed countries, because there they were offered better conditions for living and development. "But we tried to create such a complex environment that promotes work at home," the Minister Mentor of Singapore said.
