At his meeting with Russia’s President Dmitry Medvedev in Zavidovo
residence, President Viktor Yanukovych said that Ukraine would like to
build several joint ventures of various specialties with Russia.
"I have been reported recently by our co-Chairmen of Government commissions in various directions, a number of proposals for joint ventures in a number of industries are elaborated. We are ready to make serious decisions," he said, presidential press office reported.
Viktor Yanukovych also said that in the first half of the year, the turnover between Ukraine and Russia increased by more than 70%. "This is a two directional export and import. Totally, it is about $20 billion", said the President of Ukraine and thanked the Russian side for helping to remove trade barriers between the countries in such a short time.
"Goods went both ways, producers felt that major political decisions have been approved and that the officials understand the need for "open the lock gates," said the Head of State.
