President Viktor Yanukovych, during Wednesday's meeting of the Committee for Economic Reform, identified 10 priority national projects, Vladyslav Kaskiv, leader of the team for national projects of the Committee told the press, UKRINFORM reported.

First in importance among these projects, according to Kaskiv, is the construction of the Black Sea terminal to receive 10 billion cubic meters of liquefied gas. The terminal will break the current total dependence of Ukraine on the monopoly supplier of natural gas.

The second project is the construction in Crimea and in Zaporizhzhia region of wind and solar power plants, which would produce 2,000 MW of energy.

The list of priority national projects comprised the social housing construction program worth about 3-4 thousand UAH per square meter, construction of modern systems for processing household waste, the program on providing people with high-quality water, the program to improve the quality of maternal and child health care.

Other priority national projects are those for the formation of strategic plans of urban development, the development of winter tourism infrastructure in Western Ukraine to implement the intention of this country to host the Winter Olympics in 2022, as well as the project to create high-speed rail link between Kyiv and the international airport Boryspil.
