Zaporozhye Cossacks are going to protect Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and
All Russia from possible provocations of Ukrainian nationalists.
"We won't let them arrange provocations against our Patriarch and break up great feast of Russia's Baptism. We don't interfere in affairs of other confessions, but we will stand for our Patriarch," Zaporozhye Cossacks Hetman Dmytro Sagaydak said commenting on threats of some nationalist organizations to arrange protest actions against the Primate's visit.
He stresses that Cossack have protected, defended and kept "Orthodox faith, people and state" for centuries.
"With a blessing, today we'll do it again," the Hetman was quoted as saying by the Ukrainian Orthodox Church website.
