Ukraine and the EU have suspended talks over a free trade zone due to a dispute over agricultural issues, the Ukrainian prime minister said in an interview with the BBC.

"A slowdown has occurred...That's why we paid significant attention on how to break the deadlock over the disputed issues" Mykola Azarov said.

The Ukrainian premier said the main stumbling block was agriculture, as the quality of Ukrainian grain is "far higher than in Europe, believe me".
