President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych visited the construction of
Lviv stadium, which will host matches Euro 2012 finals, presidential press office informed.
Vice
Premier for Euro 2012 Borys Kolesnikov told President Yanukovych about
the construction. According to him, currently there are no serious
problems in the process. The installation of reinforced concrete
structures is slightly delayed, but the question is already being
resolved.
The President was informed that the new contractors do their work
better than previous ones, but catching up with the schedule demands
stirring up the works further. Borys Kolesnikov said that the original
schedule of construction will be caught up with by February 2011. He
also noted that the delay in construction was mainly due to delays in
preparation of project documentation. Now the question is resolved.
Lviv stadium is special because unlike those in Kharkiv, Donetsk
and Kyiv, it is built on the outskirts of the city. According to the
construction plan, along with the stadium itself, the appropriated
infrastructure is being built. It is also planned to relocate here some
administrative buildings from downtown of Lviv.
Borys Kolesnikov said that attracting investment is crucial for successful completion of building infrastructure around the stadium. The Vice Premier also discussed with the Head of State the need to increase wages for construction workers.
