The UEFA expert commission on stadiums headed by UEFA Director for stadiums and security Marc Timmer will arrive in Ukraine on a current inspection visit on May 25-26, Euro-2010 Ukraine local organizing committee informs, UKRINFORM reported.

During the visit, UEFA and IOC experts will view the progress of the stadium projects in Kyiv and Lviv in preparation for the championship, as well as will hold meetings with project teams of NSC Olimpiysky and Lviv stadium and assess progress of construction works at these sites.

According to Director of EURO-2012 tournament in Ukraine Markiyan Lubkivsky, this visit will be held on the eve of a meeting of UEFA Euro-2012 Supervisory Board that will be held on June 2, 2010, at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, chaired by UEFA President Michel Platini, and the conclusions of experts around the stadiums will be discussed.

"In addition to catching up the existing backlog of projects, there are a number of other issues that require attention. This, in particular, is arrangement of hospitality zones at a location nearby, definition of management model for sport arenas, training of key personnel and the proper pre-testing of stadiums for the matches of Euro-2012," he said.

The UEFA Euro-2012 Supervisory Board consists of representatives of UEFA, IOC of Ukraine and Poland, as well as representatives of the two governments.

The UEFA Supervisory Board controls preparation of Poland and Ukraine for the tournament and provides strategic recommendations for implementation of various aspects of the project.

In December 2009, UEFA has finally approved Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv and Donetsk as host cities of the European Football Championship 2012.
