The Agrarian Policy Ministry stands for removal of a moratorium for selling the farm lands, Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk told on air at the First National TV Channel, UKRINFORM reported.

"The government will initiate removal of a moratorium for sale of farm lands. Without this step we will not be able to form stable development of the land market," he stated noting that development of the farm land market is one of the main priorities of the sector reformation alongside with the plant growing, pig breeding and diary cattle-raising sectors.

In addition, according to Prysiazhniuk, the ministry intends to initiate setting up of the state mortgage bank of farm lands.

As it was reported earlier, President Viktor Yanukovych stands for abolishment of a moratorium for selling farm lands under condition of setting up a system of state control over its use.

On December 22, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine prolonged a moratorium for selling of farm lands till 2012.
