Deputies of the opposition government will prepare a case to be filed with the Constitutional Court against the unconstitutionality of a number of provisions of the Law "On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2010," announced Yulia Tymoshenko, the leader of the united democratic opposition.

"We have already prepared a draft resolution of the opposition government on improving the situation with the State Budget for 2010," Yulia Tymoshenko said during the meeting of the opposition government on Thursday.

According to the opposition leader, this resolution will allow them to restore the constitutionality and legitimacy of the country’s main financial document.

"With this resolution we will be instructing the justice minister of the opposition government, Olena Shustik, to prepare a claim to the Constitution Court calling for a large number of provisions of the budget for 2010 be to recognized as being in violation of the Constitution," she said.

This relates to the failure to execute the law on social standards and comply with the principles of the Constitution regarding the subsistence minimum.

"I think the Constitutional Court must determine that the law on increasing social standards that Yanukovych spoke so loudly about has not been taken into consideration in the budget," explained the opposition leader.

Yulia Tymoshenko also stressed that the current budget violates the constitutional right and laws that govern the provision of social services and benefits.

"I would like us to take a week to prepare a constitutional claim that will restore the rights that have not been met in this budget for 2010," she said.
