The ratification of the agreement extending the lease for the Russian Black Sea Fleet’s bases in Ukraine was rigged, just like the results of the presidential election, claims Yulia Tymoshenko, the leader of the united democratic opposition.
"What happened today is unconstitutional, just like everything that Yanukovych has done since he assumed office. That’s why we’re obligated to do everything we can so that the people elect a team to parliament that will denounce all these agreements, return to Ukraine what is being taken away from it, and once and for all remove the fifth column in Ukrainian politics," Yulia Tymoshenko said during a briefing in the Verkhovna Rada.
According to her, today we saw another phase of the violent overthrow and desecration of the Constitution. "If there are people in Ukrainian society who are ready to defend Ukraine, let’s unite so that a new parliament is elected as soon as possible under pressure from the people and public opinion," she said.
BYuT leader called all supporters of the opposition to come to the Verkhovna Rada building on May 11 and demand denouncement of the agreement or announcement of early parliamentary elections.
"MPs closed the palriament till May 11. So, from today we start going to the regions to enable people, who stand for Ukraine, to come to the parliament on May 11 and block its work until those traitors denounce the agreement or announe early parliamentary elections," Tymoshenko addressed her supporters in front of the palriament on Tuesday.
