The 2010 draft state budget provides funds to increase salaries and pensions, said President Viktor Yanukovych today, answering questions of journalists during his visit to the National Museum "Battle for Kyiv in 1943”.

"I promised to raise pensions and salaries, and we foreseen this in the budget. It will happen," he said, presidential press office reported.

Viktor Yanukovych also said that recently Ukrainian economy has started growing. "The economy has begun to grow, and will be growing further. We will bring order to the economy, and to life, and everything will be fine. We just should wait a little, not all at once will happen," he said.

The President also spoke for leaving more funds to local budgets for development, but noted that implementation of such initiative would take time.

"You know the condition we received the country in. So you understand that before we give, we must earn," said President Yanukovych.
