Vice Prime Minister for Humanitarian Affairs Volodymyr Semynozhenko stated that Ukrainian dubbing of films will not be abolished, he told a briefing at the Cabinet.

Earlier, Semynozhenko negatively appraised the quality of Ukrainian film dubbing and, in particular, the quality of the Ukrainian language in such films.

According to him, it is necessary not to raise an issue about dubbing of all cinema products into the Ukrainian, but about raising the quality of such a dubbing, UKRINFORM reports.

In June 2008, the Kyiv Interrogational Economic Court of Appeal abolished the Cabinet's resolution of 2006 and obliged cinematographic entities to dub or caption all the foreign films into Ukrainian in order to get a film distribution certificate.

On December 24, 2007, the Constitutional Court took a decision about interpreting Article 14 of the Law of Ukraine "On Cinematography" according to which all the foreign films should be dubbed, sounded-on or captioned on the state language without fail before being distributed in Ukraine.
