The united democratic opposition has set a goal of defending the
achievements of Yulia Tymoshenko’s government from Viktor Yanukovych’s
team.
"Most important is to not allow the ruling government from
destroying the achievements made in recent years in education and
protecting small and medium business. There are enough issues for us to
work together," said Serhiy Sobolev, the head of the opposition
government, according to Tymoshenk's official website.
He noted that the democratic opposition includes a significant
number of members of parliament. "There are 148 deputies from the Yulia
Tymoshenko Bloc, and nearly 40 from Our Ukraine that have said they are
willing to actively work as part of the united opposition," he said.
"We’re not united not in our opposition to someone, but in the
principles and economic measures that we will introduce," he added.
