The idea of creation of gas transit consortium with Ukraine's gas transit system is betraying the national interests, acting Prime Minister Deputy Premier Oleksandr Turchynov has told the press Friday.
"Any talks about the necessity of creating any consortium, lend-lease, any formulas of joint ownership or control by other states over our gas transit system, from our point of view, is just a betrayal of the national interests. I want to emphasize once again that the gas transit system is a fundamental of our state's economic independence," Turchynov stressed.
He said that the Ukrainian gas transit system is operating efficiently, reliably, it is fulfilling its duties on the transportation of gas to domestic and European consumers.
