The same day after the dismissal Yulia Tymoshenko held a meeting of Cabinet staff, said goodbye to the workers and thanked for good work. She also asked the staff of the Secretariat of the Cabinet to work "warely" with new Cabinet.

Later Tymoshenko held a meeting with ministers during which she declared she would go on vacation and charged the first vice minister Oleksandr Turchynov to fulfil the duties of the acting prime minister.

At the same time the majority of the government confirmed their readiness to keep working till new Cabinet is set.

Oleksandr Turchynov will serve as acting Prime Minister of Ukraine until a new one is elected and new government is formed.

This follows article 115 of the Constitution, by which "The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine that has divested itself of its powers before the newly elected Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine or whose resignation has been accepted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine shall continue to exercise its powers until the newly formed Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine starts its work."
