President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych held a meeting with the representatives of all parliamentary factions and Head of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Litvin, according to the presidential press office.

“The first and main issue for today is formation of a coalition in Verkhovna Rada. I do not want to make any terms to the factions, even to the Party of Regions faction. I would like you to agree on creation of a coalition in the near future, which would nominate a Prime Minister and government. Please summon political will and reach an agreement. We should overcome the crisis of public governance and move ahead. Our society and our partners all over the world expect it”, the President of Ukraine underlined speaking to the participants of the meeting and added that otherwise the scenario of pre-term parliamentary elections will take place.

The Head of Parliament and representatives of the factions concurred with the necessity of holding negotiations on creation of a new parliamentary coalition and expressed their readiness to begin. Mykola Tomenko has mentioned that his political force decided to go to opposition. Thus BYuT will not participate in the negotiations.

President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych said: “The step which Parliament have made today opens the way to forming of a new coalition. I invite you to cooperate and I am ready to become your partner. I will act exceptionally for the benefit of the state, society, and within the framework of current legislation.”

Viktor Yanukovych has called for the leaders of the factions not to wait and begin negotiations on creation of a new coalition already today.
