President Viktor Yanukovych has signed decrees aimed at improving life of common people and  fighting poverty. 

"I promised the people that I will do everything to establish justice in this very difficult time for the country.  To raise salaries and pensions, and today I did it. This decree I signed first," Yanukovych said, according to his press office.

"The second decree, I have signed today, starts the process of immediate structural economic reforms that will allow to create strong economy in Ukraine.  Thus we open new workplaces, give people decent jobs and decent wages," he added. 

The third decree signed by the president is aimed at establishing a system of eradication of corruption in Ukraine. 

"We have made the first three steps towards radical restructuring of whole system of governance, which will now serve the people. 

I want to emphasize that every day of my work at the high post, which the people entrusted me, will be dedicated to fighting poverty and changing the life of our country. 

 We have set ourselves this goal. And we will achieve it," Yanukovych's statement reads.
