Tymoshenko: The government is not clinging to power
The government and its ministers are not clinging to power and were ready for this issue to be considered at a special session of parliament, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said, her website reported.

"That’s why we wanted to confirm the vote of confidence in the government or indeed dismiss the government. I know that none of you, who have spent the most difficult year and a half of the crisis together with the country, are not clinging to power and your posts," Yulia Tymoshenko said in opening the government meeting.

According to her, the fact that the Party of Regions withdrew is resolution on dismissing the government is a sign that they lack the necessary number of votes to dismiss the government.

"This is evidence that the Party of Regions isn’t ready to take responsibility for the country and is simply engaged in conversations, and that they don’t have enough votes for a dismissal," she explained.

As reported, on February 22, First Vice Prime Minister Oleksandr Turchynov issued a statement in which he said that the BYuT faction in parliament is insisting that a special session of parliament be held on Wednesday, February 24, to consider the Party of Regions resolution on dismissing the government.
