Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has ruled out the possibility of a parliamentary coalition between her political force and the Party of Regions, Tymoshenko's official website citing her words.

"I want to state that under no circumstances will I create a coalition with Yanukovych. I won’t be signing universals and memorandums with him because I do not recognize him as the president of Ukraine," Yulia Tymoshenko said in her address to the Ukrainian people.

The head of government underscored that Viktor Yanukovych, before even gaining the powers of the president, has already announced his plans for meausres that do not correspond with Ukraine’s European and democratic outlook, while the Party of Regions has already begun to betray national interests.

"Yanukovych’s team has already begun privatizing the gas transport system. By the way, they filed a suit against Ukraine in the Stockholm court seeking to take away strategic reserves of natural gas. It’s a glaring fact that the new president’s team is against Ukraine. And this is only the beginning. Today Ukraine’s independence is at risk," Yulia Tymoshenko said.

The only way to resolve the situation that arose following the presidential elections is to consolidate the democratic forces in parliament – namely, OU-PSD, BYuT and the Lytvyn Bloc, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has said.

"We need to finally put aside all our differences and create a strong team in the Verkhovna Rada that won’t allow an anti-Ukrainian dictatorship to be established," Yulia Tymoshenko said in her address to the people of Ukraine.

She emphasized that she has already begun negotiations with the democratic camp in the Verkhovna Rada. "I am publicly proposing this effective method. This will be a test of patriots and democrats for their allegiance to Ukraine and incorruptibility," she believes.
