President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko held a telephone conversation with Viktor Yanukovych.
During the conversation Yushchenko congratulated Yanukovych on his legitimate election to the post of President of Ukraine.
Particularly,
the head of state expressed hope that Viktor Yanukovych as a newly
elected President of Ukraine will make every effort to accomplish his
key mission at this post, namely consolidation of Ukraine. In Viktor
Yushchenko’s opinion, today is right time to implement the “East and
West together” thesis.
Yushchenko also wished Yanukovych
success in defending Ukrainian interests and protecting democratic
traditions as the Head of Ukrainian State.
