On February 15 or 16, Yulia Tymoshenko’s central campaign headquarters
will appeal the official election results in the High Administrative
Court, reports People’s Deputy Serhiy Vlasenko (BYuT), according to Tymoshenko's website.
"Today, after the announcement of the results by the Central
Election Commission, the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc is absolutely ready to
appeal to the High Administrative Court, as per the law on the
presidential election. As far as I know, this appeal will be filed with
the court on February 15 or 16, immediately after receipt of the
printed version of the final protocol from today's meeting of the
Central Election Commission," Serhiy Vlasenko said today on Channel 5.
He recalled that the elections were held with significant
violations of the law. "The Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc will respond in a
civilized European way - go to the court with a complaint and use all
possible ways to prove in court that there were violations of current
law. We demand a recount. This is a normal, European, democratic
procedure," he stressed.
According to Serhiy Vlasenko, today's meeting of the Central
Election Commission from a legal standpoint is identical to the events
during the previous presidential election in 2004. "Everything was
exactly the same as in 2004. If you remember, the representatives of
presidential candidate Yushchenko, Katerynchuk and Zvarych, demanded
that their complaint be considered and they were denied. We have the
same situation now. Then the lawyers shouted that the court case hasn’t
been decided yet but nobody paid attention. The exact same thing is
happened today," he believes.
