Observers from European Parliament keep arriving in Ukraine

Eight European Parliament deputies will be in Ukraine on February 5-8 to observe the second round of the presidential election.

A delegation will be headed by deputy from Poland Pawel Kowal (European Conservatives and Reformists Group).

The European Parliament delegation is a part of the joint International Election Observation Mission (IEOM) that also includes representatives of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR), the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.

Today is the last day of canvassing ahead of the second round of the presidential election that will be held on February 7.

Leader of the Regions Party Viktor Yanukovych and Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko will participate in the second round of the presidential election.

As of February 3, the CEC registered 3,780 official observers from foreign states and international organizations, 631 persons up against the first round.
