Ukraine's Foreign Minister Petro Poroshenko dismisses the possibility of recognizing independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia as this conflicts with international law, he said this in an interview for Kommersant-Ukraine, UKRINFORM reported.

"I don't think this problem is on our agenda. And I dismiss the possibility of recognizing South Ossetia and Abkhazia as this violates the fundamental principles of international law," he emphasized.

As referred to recognition of Kosovo, the Ukrainian diplomat said Ukraine's stand remains unchanged and there are no grounds for such recognition.

"The position is absolutely clear and distinct. Ukraine did not recognize Kosovo's independence and considers there are no grounds for such recognition today. The argumentation is the same as referred to South Ossetia and Abkhazia," Poroshenko underscored.
