Presidential candidate Yulia Tymoshenko believes public debates between the two presidential contenders should become a deciding factor in the second round of the polls.

"If there are debates, the difference won’t be 1-2%. I think the difference between who wins and who loses will be significant," she said in an interview on 1+1 channel.

In her opinion, public debates between the two candidates will be an indicator of the level of democracy, transparency and competitiveness of the presidential elections in Ukraine. "The entire electoral must be democratic, fair and competitive, and so that the differences isn’t in a few votes, the provisions of the presidential elections law, and global practice, must be met and both candidates should debate," she explained.

"I guarantee that I will come," she said.

"I believe the elections will end with a decisive result and decisive victory for Ukraine, and there won’t be any stresses," she said, when asked if her team is preparing to challenge the results of the elections in the courts.
