Minister of Foreign Affairs Petro Poroshenko will help increase the number of international observers for the presidential election in Ukraine.

"I will work within my competence to help increase the number of international observers. We will do our utmost to ensure that this is done," Petro Poroshenko said today in the Cabinet of Ministers, BYuT press office reported.

Poroshenko announced that he planed to meet with representatives of the EU Troika this afternoon and tomorrow would have a meeting with OSCE representatives to discuss preparations for the elections.

At today's Cabinet meeting, Presidential candidate and current Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko instructed Vice Prime Minister Hryhoriy Nemyria and Foreign Minister Petro Poroshenko to consult with representatives of the OSCE and analyze Ukrainian legislation and international documents in order to register 2,011 observers who were denied registration by the Central Election Commission.
