President Viktor Yushchenko is sure that democratic forces of Ukraine should unite in 2010 Presidential election, he said at the meeting with media of western regions, president's press office reported.
According to him consolidation around one candidate would make the first round easier for the democratic forces. "What makes presidential election in Ukraine special is that the victory is formed in the first round", said Viktor Yushchenko.
Victor Yushchenko said that negotiations on that are conducted and he takes part in them via his representative. He expressed confidence that these negotiations will be effective and that in a critical moment democratic forces will unite.
