The Party of Regions is getting ready to the defeat of its leader Viktor Yanukovych at the coming presidential election. It is proved by the fact that on December 16 the Kyiv department of the Party of Regions addressed Kyiv mayor Leonid Chernovetsky with a message to occupy nine! principle squares of the capital for the period from January 17 till February 20 2010.
The Party of Regions officially informs about the intention to hold “public and political explanatory actions.” For this they need the following squares: the one in front of the Cabinet, the one near the Verkhovna Rada, near the Secretariat of the President, in front of the Central Election Committee, near the Appeal Court of Kyiv; as well as European, Sofia, Mykhailivska and Independence squares.
“It is planned to place placards with the party symbols and to deliver information notes,” the letter of the party says.
