Volodymyr Lytvyn stands for liquidation of regional and
district state administrations before start of local elections of
2010, the Verkhovna Rada Chairman
said during a press conference in Pryluky (Chenihiv region).
In his opinion, in provinces the executive committees should be established that are to be formed of representatives of local communities familiar with regional problems but not of the persons appointed by Kyiv as is the case now. Volodymyr Lytvyn says it is necessary to introduce a majority system at the local elections.
