President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko believes that Ukraine will definitely join the European Union, he said in an interview with Le Figaro newspaper.
“Ukraine will be a member of the EU. I have no doubts about it, as not only Ukraine needs the EU, but the EU needs Ukraine as well,” Yushchenko said, according to the press office.
According to Yushchenko, the examples of successful implementation of Ukraine’s path are joining the Bologna process, integration into the European energy market, negotiations on simplification of visa regime for Ukrainians and negotiations on free trade zones.
The president estimated the development of relations between Ukraine and the EU as exceptionally positive. “We must be proud of these relations. We have made a big progress for these three-four years,” Yushchenko said.
