Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has accused three participants of the tender on privatization of the Odesa Portside Factory in Odesa region of collusion. Tymoshenko said at a meeting with entrepreneurs.

"Right now, live in the air the collusion of the three participants was implemented in order to buy the Odesa Portside Factory for a song," said Tymoshenko.

The Ukrainian prime minister noted that the tender participants have made an attempt to purchase the Odesa Portside Factory with involvement of corruptive schemes. The Cabinet of Ministers won't allow this, Tymoshenko said.

“The State Property Fund in July announced a tender for the sale of the 99.567-percent stake in the Odesa Portside Plant. The starting price was fixed at the level of UAH 4 billion. Then, as you know President Yuschenko suspended the privatization of the Odesa Portside Plant and a big part of decent candidates just left…Then, while courts were making corrupted decision in favor of this or that applicant, another part of investor also left. As a result, the remaining participants acted in collusion and tried to buy the enterprise at the nominal price,” the prime minister said.

According to Tymoshenko, this very fact dictated the State Property Fund to endorse a decision not to recognize the results of the tender on the privatization of the Odesa Portside Factory.

Participating in the tender were three companies: Nortima limited liability company, the Frunze Flora Company (affiliated with Kostiantyn Hryhorishyn), and the Azot Servis Company (Russia, controlled by the Sibur Holding Company which is affiliated with Russia's Gazprom gas monopoly).

99.567-percent stake in the Odesa Portside Plant, Odesa region, were sold to Nortima limited liability company, which is affiliated with businessman Ihor Kolomoiskyi, for UAH 5 billion.
