According to Kondratiuk, in
2007, over 472,000 babies were born in Ukraine, in 2008 - 510.5
thousand, and over H1 2009 - over 297,000. In addition, an increase in
the number of marriages and reduction of divorces was
fixed.
"Presently, there are 15 children per each 10 families", the deputy minister said. She explained that among the families with children, 70% have one child, 25% - two and 5% - three and more children.
"What is very important - the number of adoptions grows. Parents who have own children take orphaned children to their families, set up children's homes of the family type. Only this year the Ukrainians adopted 1,528 children, about 1,500 Ukrainian families are engaged in drawing up documents for adoption", Tetiana Kondratiuk said.
