Experts from Austria, Great Britain, the United States, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Iran, Hungary and Ukraine have started checking safety status at Rivne Atomic Power Plant (RAPP), National radio reported.

They were sent by the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). According to IAEA official Mark Kearney, the specialists will particularly focus on the practice of investigating into the events related to human and technical factors, assessment of remedial actions taken by RAPP staff and leadership in order to prevent unjustified halts of power generating units and their emergency shutdown.

Apart from this, the foreign experts will also assess, in operation, an information system of power-plant operational safety monitoring introduced there under the WANO methods.
