President Viktor Yushchenko is ready to withdraw a submission to the Constitutional Court on some items of new version of the law on the presidential election in the case if the parliament makes changes in the law. The deputy head of the Presidential Secretariat, a spokesman for President in the Verkhovna Rada Ihor Popov told about it at the Conciliatory board of the Verkhovna Rada.

According to him, the parliament is to give instruction to the state construction and local administration committee to work at the amendments in the law.

“If changes are made concerning items which were appealed by President in the Constitutional Court, and concerning items which might cause problems (in the new version of the law on the presidential election), President is ready to withdraw his submission to the Constitutional Court”, Ihor Popov said.

According to him, if changes are made, the law will be regulated before the presidential election campaign starts, Ukrainian News reported.
