Tymoshenko: Ukraine will hold Children's Eurovision - 2009 contest on high level

The Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko has commissioned the Finance Ministry and State Treasury to immediately, during the day, transfer UAH 15 million envisaged in the State Budget for financing events dedicated to holding of song contest Children’s Eurovision-2009. A respective commission was formed by Yulia Tymoshenko during a meeting into the issues of preparation and holding of this event.

Yulia Tymoshenko reminded that Children’s Eurovision-2009 would take place in Kyiv on November 15-22, at the Palace of Sport: “Of course we should do our best for the Children’s Eurovision to be successful and Ukraine should demonstrate high level in holding of such huge children’s festivals”. The PM is convinced that the contest will be held on a proper and high level and added that Ukraine has every chance to gain victory in the event.

Moreover, Yulia Tymoshenko empowered the State Customs Service to ensure unimpeded admission of television equipment and belongings of delegations of countries-participants on a temporary basis: “for all foreign guests who are to participate in the contest Children’s Eurovision-2009 the green corridor has to be guaranteed”.
