The Donetsk regional prosecutors' office instituted criminal proceedings upon the fact of an explosion at the Kirov coalmine in Makiivka, Donetsk region, Ukrainian News has learned from Pavlo Zoria, press secretary for the Donetsk regional prosecutors' office.
"Filed a criminal case on the Penal Code's Article 272, section two (breaking safety rules when carrying out particularly dangerous works," Zoria said.
They are performing pre-trial investigation and ordered expert examinations, he added hereto.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, on August 23, a blast at the Kirov coalmine killed eight miners and injured another twenty.
MakiivVuhillia includes seven coalmines: Kholodna Balka, Lenin Mine, Chaikino, Butovksaya, Kirov Mine, Yasinovskaya-Hlubokaya, Severnaya, Bazhanov Mine, as well as supplementary departments and subdivisions.
