The Verkhovna Rada has overridden the President's veto on the amendments to the state budget 2009 concerning financing the Euro 2012, the ForUm’s correspondent informs.

384 out of 409 MPs registered in the session hall, voted for such decision. In particular, Party of Regions - 166 MPs, BYuT - 152 MPs, Our Ukraine – People's Self Defense - 20 MPs, CPU – 27, Lytvyn Bloc – 19.

Before the voting, the representative of the President in the parliament Igor Popov stated that Viktor Yushchenko had vetoed this law as he considered it violates the legislation of Ukraine, provokes inflation growth and devalue national currency. He reminded that the President had offered his propositions concerning financing of Euro 2012.

As a reminder, on August 3 President Viktor Yushchenko vetoed the state budget amendments obliging the National Bank of Ukraine to transfer UAH 9.8 billion to the state budget to finance the construction of facilities ahead of the Euro 2012.
