The Ukrainian National Party (UNP) has proposed that parliament pass a statement with respect to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's open letter, and review clauses of the agreements between Ukraine and Russia that are being violated by the latter.

"The Ukrainian National Party will demand that that the question of the Verkhovna Rada's statement in respect to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's letter be put on the agenda," UNP leader Yuriy Kostenko said at a press conference on Friday, Kyiv Post reported.

He said that party members were picketing the parliament on Friday, demanding that the issue be put on the agenda.

Kostenko said that UNP deputies had registered a respective bill and a draft statement in parliament. According to him, if the bill is not submitted for consideration by parliament on August 21, the Ukrainian National Party will insist on its consideration on the first day of the parliament's next session.
