The Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko announces that while she and her team are at power the issues of the second official language in Ukraine will not be raised. She said today during the Annual gathering of Ukrainian World Congress underway in Lviv. “While our team is at power… we will not afford to raise an issue about another official language,” the Head of Government urged, according to government portal.

Yulia Tymoshenko paid attention to the fact that nowadays arguments around language issue have ceased and 81% of education is conducted in Ukrainian: “Today Ukrainian language has become popular: it is learned, it is spoken and it is our common achievement”. The Premier added that even those politicians who declare that Russian language has to be the second official language give their children to Ukrainian schools.
