The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) is planning to favor the retention of this year's inflation within 13% (December to December), UkrInform reported.

This is stipulated in the central bank's plan of additional measures on ensuring the stability of the national currency and the country's banking system.

The document reads that the NBU is also planning to ensure growth in Ukraine's monetary base this year in line with indicators approved by the principles of monetary and credit policy for 2009 (growth in monetary base 106%).

Ukraine had deflation of 0.1% in July compared to June 2009.

Inflation was 1.1% in June, and 8.6% since the start of the year.

Inflation was 17.3% in January-July 2009 year-over-year.

Ukraine had inflation of 22.3% in 2008 compared to 2007 (December to December).
