Regions Party leader Viktor Yanukovych has proposed forming a national anti-crisis center. He was speaking in an interview with the Dzerkalo Tyzhnia (Mirror Weekly) newspaper, UKRINFORM reported.

"The goal of such a center is to collect all information, both from official and alternative sources, about the situation in the country, determine painful issues and offer options for resolving concrete tasks," he said.

The politician said that political parties represented in parliament, as well as Ukrainian intellectuals would have to be involved in the center's work.

"Such a center should be created with the participation of all parties represented in parliament, as well as the Ukrainian intellectual elite. The nation should be informed about the work [of this center] in an online mode," Yanukovych said.

He said that the creation and full-scale activity of a similar center would become possible after the presidential election on January 17, 2010.
