There is no single Orthodox Church in Ukraine, Head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Kyiv Patriarchate) Filaret has stated, according to Kyiv Post.

"If they say there is a single church, it is not true," the patriarch said after the holy liturgy near Saint Volodymyr monument in Kyiv on Tuesday.

In his speech to the people he touched on the issues of the schism and criticized statements by Russian Patriarch Kirill about a single Orthodox Church.

"When he [Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill] said that there is a united church in Ukraine, he was speaking about the Russian church. Yes, there is a united church in Russia, but we want to have ours in Ukraine," he said.

He also called on the people to preserve their faith in their hearts.
