Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has instructed the Economics Ministry and the Agrarian Policy Ministry to simplify the procedures for purchase of grain from farmers into the Agrarian Fund, Kyiv Post reported.

Tymoshenko issued this instruction while addressing farmers via a telephone hotline.

"I am requesting that the Economics Ministry and the Agrarian Policy Ministry prepare a special resolution that provides for significant simplification of the existing procedures," Tymoshenko said.

In particular, the resolution is expected to cancel the requirement for farmers to provide certificates from the State Tax Administration and the Pension fund about existence or absence of debts.

Tymoshenko also said that farmers could submit their applications through the government's contact center (telephone number 8 800 507 30 90).

Tymoshenko stressed that applications should be processed within five days and threatened to fine the leadership if the Agrarian Fund if they fail to process the applications within five days.

As a reminder, the Agrarian Fund intends to begin accepting documents for delivery of grain into the food reserves held by its regional divisions.

The Cabinet of Ministers authorized the Agrarian Fund on July 1 to buy grain from the 2009 harvest into the state reserve.

The Agrarian Fund should buy 889,000 tons of grain or 16% of the total quantity of grain required on the domestic market.
