Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia arrived in Kyiv on Monday morning, ForUm informs, referring to Interfax-Ukraine press service.
The delegation of the Russian Orthodox Church landed at about 9 a.m. at Boryspil airport. Metropolital of Kyiv and All Ukraine Volodymyr, priesthood of Ukrainian Orthodox Church, MPs and leader of PR Viktor Yanukovych met the delegation in the airport.
The patriarch Kirill is accompanied by hierarchs from the Moscow Patriarchate, officials from the Holy Synod as well as mass media representatives.
Patriarch is expected to conduct a liturgy in honor of St. Volodymyr and conduct a session of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The religious leader will meet Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko on Monday after which he plans to visit the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Monument to the Victims of Holodomor 1932-1933.
