Answering the question about his first steps on the post of the Head of state if he wins the upcoming presidential elections, Viktor Yanukovych said in particular: “The first thing to be done is to establish basic order in the country to make everyone adhere to the laws and be equal under the Law”.
The Party of Regions leader pointed out that in 2006-2007 when he headed the Cabinet, he and his governmental team fulfilled all their obligations. “In 2006-2007 we raised the level of economy by 8 per cent. This enabled us to increase wages and pensions four times over the year”, he reminded.
Viktor Yanukovych underlined that his top priority has always been the people’s higher standard of living. “My first steps on the post of President of Ukraine will be directed at making the lives of our citizens better. And these steps will be regular”, he pointed out.
According to him, this could be done exclusively by means of growing economy. “The overcoming of crisis and economic growth will create conditions for successful development of a mighty state respected worldwide. Nothing is recognized except power. And the money from the growth should be allocated in the real sector of the economy so that the country could develop further. This will enable to upgrade the citizens’ life, particularly, by increasing wages and pensions”, V. Yanukovych underlined.
The Party of Regions leader is firmly convinced that he will cope with it. “We know this path. We have a team able to fulfill its elections programs”, he summed up.
