Representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the World Bank (WB) call the reformation of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine as a major precondition for providing a loan to Ukraine.

The relevant recommendation was presented during talks involving representatives of Ukraine, Russia, IMF, EBRD and WB in Brussels. The main objective of the meeting was elaboration of a program of activities intended to prevent a new gas crisis.

The negotiations will be continued next week in Kyiv.

At the June 29 consultations of the European Commission with representatives of Ukraine, Russia and international finance institutions, Ukraine was offered a loan for filling the underground gas storages with the volumes needed to ensure a trouble-free transit of the Russian gas to the EU in winter period.

At the same time, the European party set forth a range of conditions regarding the reformation of the Ukrainian gas sector to raise the credit.
