The Party of Regions has blocked the VRU podium, the ForUm’s correspondent informs.

The deputy chairman of the PR faction Oleksandr Yefremov explained the actions of his political force: “The matter concerns the law on increase of the living wage and salary. But yesterday the coalition started to play with this issue. This draft law was supported in the first reading, but was not supported totally. So coalition intends not to pass this law in order it not to come into effect until autumn.”

According to him, today the main demand of the PR is voting for this necessary for the whole country draft law. “Either we consider and vote for this law, or the parliament will not consider any issues and laws the coalition wants,” he added.

As a reminder, yesterday the parliament adopted in the first reading draft law on changes into the Law “On state budget of Ukraine for 2009” concerning the volume of living wage and minimal salary, submitted by the Party of Regions. 243 MPs voted for this law: PR – 172, BYuT – 0, OU-PSD – 25, CPU – 27, Lytvyn bloc – 19.

According to the law, minimal salary should be increased by UAH 200, and pension – by UAH 100.

According to the deputy head of the budget committee, MP from the BYuT Oleh Lyashko said that the committee does not support this law as in case of its adoption the government should additionally allocate UAH 37 billion, that will misbalance the state budget.
