Ukrainian Interior Minister Yuriy Lutsenko has said that the police will not support any political force during the presidential campaign, ForUm informs, referring to Interfax-Ukraine.

"I think that everybody who remembers my activity as Ukraine's interior minister in 2006, when parliamentary elections were held, can rest assured that the police won't support any particular political force," he said in Kyiv on Friday.

He also commented on his role in the presidential campaign of Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.

"I said that I would [campaign for Tymoshenko] during my vacation, while of course appointing an acting interior minister," Lutsenko said.

Lutsenko said in Lviv on Thursday that he would take a vacation during the presidential campaign and would support Tymoshenko's campaign for president.
